Seeing as it is the month of December, the month of all things christmassy, I thought it was only appropriate to give a.... nope no Christmas Story here! I've found out I'm actually extremley bad at themed stories, so here's a simple short one for you. This will be part of a series and there will be other additional stories following on to it.
Let me know what you think in the comments below! :) "Jemma was walking down the cobbles of NYU texting her boyfriend- Daniel- when the car hit her. The driver was a young college student who was drinking whilst driving. Witnesses were two of Jemma's friends who were waiting for her at the end of the pavement and a homeless woman. Jemma and David were romantically connected, doesn't seem like he knew Jemma was dating another person, yet coincedentally whilst drunk he smashed a car killing both of them. I want forensics on the car, a patrol team sent to Jemma's & David's respective houses to interview the families. I want...." PC Maggie was interrupted by her son barging into the door...of her workplace? "Mum, what the hell do you think you're doing!" her son shouted at her- the murmmed chatter in the office fell to a toxic silence. "What do you think I'm doing Daniel! My job! What do you think you're doing here? You should be at College." "Yeah, whatever sure, I just came to check something. When I told you to your face this morning the news about my dead girlfriend you already knew didn't you!" "I may have known...something, but Daniel you shouldn't be here!" "And you also seem to know she was cheating on me with the frickin captain of the NYU Football team! Yet didn't feel the need to tell me? What were you thinking!" Daniel paused to catch his breath, whilst Maggie's cheeks turned a dark shade of tomato red. "Daniel, this is not an inappropriate conversation to having, we'll deal with this later." "NO, I think this is the perfect time in front of all your collegues so they can hear the truth about you and Dad and how you lie to your son about his dead girlfriend!" "Daniel, she's dead there's not anything I can do to bring her back, I kept the details from you because of confidentiality! Her family don't want all of campus to know she or her lover are dead." "Mum, you're so insentive sometimes! This is death you're talkiing about not something that can just be covered up!" "You think I of all people don't know that! Daniel after your Father died- and I had to bring up a son... who turned out to be an ungrateful brat of a child!" Maggie's hands flew to her mouth and she shook her head in disbelief at what she had just said. "Daniel...you know I didn't mean that..but.." "But what! Have something else to say about the Father you've never talked about to me for 10 f****** years?" Daniel stormed out slamming the door behind him. The full blow of what Maggie had just done hit her hard and she collapsed onto the floor in front of her colleagues. An ambulance was called and Maggie stayed in the hospital for one night with a concussion. When that night had gone by, Daniel was missing. He wanted to know the truth.

This is a poem about life and love. I really wanted to do a poem on this blog because I love them in general- they're like songs without music. So below is a little ditty I just wrote! When the rain is blowing in your face, And thunder is crashing on your soul, Lightning has destroyed the road before you, There's nowhere left to go. Turn northwards towards the mountains, Climb the sheer cliffs of Dover, With childish hope in your heart- the summit is reached; There's no more cliff to climb. Fly upwards and onward, The seagulls wave hello, Like Icarus, my wings start to melt, Fading away... There's no more clouds to race. Walls are built before me, Goals that cannot be scored, People keep on talking, But they don't know what to say. The light goes green on answers, That I don't know how to ask, Questions which run round in my mind, So many still to go, I head off to a place, I'm not sure I should be, Words stumble in my mouth, Creating anxiety. Creating tense situations, Creating accumulation. Is it OK to flash my colours, Or keep them under wraps? Talk the talk- and walk the walk, Or quiet the quiet- and shuffle the shuffle. Is it OK to think of this, Or keep it in a treasure chest, No one will ever find. Hard to make decisions, It's hard to choose a path, Put yourself out there, Or be locked in a handmade cage, Put yourself out there or.... A girl was in a dark room.
At least she thought she was, she wasn't sure anymore- not sure of anything any more. Was the room light or dark, dark or light, bright or black...her mind was running circles. The girl took a deep rattling breath trying to get her mind together. She needed something, anything remotely familiar to think of. She had no idea what familiar was anymore. A gasp of wind came from a draft somewhere, when suddenly a word popped into her mind. Earth. Where did that come from? What was Earth? What did it do? The girl tried to think to grasp onto the memory hidden deep within her mind- then everything she remembered was unlocked. To her it was like a bullet in the chest. Her name was Kate and she had come from Earth. As Kate's heart pounded a dark figure appeared out of the confusing shadows of light and dark. It beckoned to her with one dark finger. She let out a horrible- piercing shriek of fear as her surroundings turned pitch black. She started to run, run, run like she never had before ;stumbling through the dark. The figure was a menacing shade of white now, contrasting against the dramatic stage of black. Then it was chasing her screaming it's chilling sorrows echoing from everywhere- yet nowhere. Long pale fingers scratched at her arms and legs tugging at her short, brown hair. White lashes darted at her face and eyes leaving red lines across her face. She let out another throaty scream, screaming for anyone to help. More hallowing screams came from a dark place inside of her. The adrenaline was pumping through her veins as sweat dripped down the back of her bare neck. Kate was sprinting like she'd never done before in her life. She was the prey escaping the predator. It was not enough... soon the figure had caught up....covered Kate's mouth with a single shadowy hand.....smothered her body... Kate sat up in bed, tears streaming down her cheeks. She looked at the clock beside her bed. 11:11 Same time. Long night. Every night. Every night alone. Please stop. I have 50 books I would like to share with you today -consisting of a variation in genre. Feel free to take some of these recommendations and read to your heart's (or imagination's) content.

I love books in all different shapes and sizes. I have a reasonable sized collection of about 93 books and counting so I would like to share with you my favourite's. I am a self professed Bibliophile so I do have some experience on what you should or should not read. With Christmas coming up as well I hope I can give you some inspiration. 1) Quiet Power This books target market is introverts and how growing up as one isn't a bad thing. It shows introverts and extroverts alike that it's OK to be who you are, regardless of how quiet you may be. Cleverly written with beautiful drawings and sketches it helped me on a personal level. Recommend to anyone. 2) Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy Funny, clever and slightly rude in some respects seeing it was written in the 80's. However this does not stop it from being one of the best books I've ever read. Even though I was at an inappropriate age to read it! It's all about travelling the galaxies and the one question everyone seeks...What is the meaning of life?......42 3)Stig of the Dump This book takes some time to get into but when you do it's a great read. Slightly old-fashioned plot line with a "good example" of a British boy who's bored one day. What could he possibly do to amuse himself? Find a billion year old caveman and go on an adventurewhichincludesatwistendingnospoilers. 4)Girl Online 2 No words need to explain this book. 5)The Maze Runner A great series to read packed full of action right from the start. This book is about a teenage boy who wakes up one day in a forest with no memory of where he came from or who he was. His only memory is his name. Thomas. He is trapped in a maze with a bunch of strangers who all remember nothing about where they cam from. But something is different with Thomas, he was left with the first message the Gladers (the people living in the Maze) have received. Again no spoilers but it is a tremendous book and series. 6) Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them The movie of the book has recently come out and is extremely different from the book. In the book it is written as a guide to Wizards and Witches alike on the unusual magical creatures that live in the wizarding world. Written in alphabetical order it is a sweet way of putting the many animals mentioned in JK. Rowling's books into a handy guide for Harry Potter Fans out there (i.e. Me). 7)NERVE
A sci-fi that is one of my personal favourite books. It's set in the near future where technology is more advanced and a big part of people's lives. A website named NERVE an online dare challenging game where anyone can take part. Players play the dare's and Watchers film them and upload it to NERVE sort of like the modern age paparazzi. Little do the Player's know the truth about the NERVE and what really goes on online. So that's my top 7 books recommended to you, let me know if you do decide to read any of them in the comments below! "Lucinda was an average teenager living an average life, with the same insecurities and the same fashion sense. Nothing was that special about her, people regarded her as quite a dull person- little did they know.
Her friends saw her as a tag along someone who added to their friendship group. Therefore she was invited to the usual social gatherings and meetings that took place over the summer. On one of these particular meetings to a bowling alley some boys started chatting to her friends whilst she hung at the back of the group feeling slightly left out of the conversation. Lucinda recognised the boys from their school's champion tennis team and gave a mental sigh at people who play sport. "How can anybody enjoy something that makes you feel physically run down" she thought- then suddenly one of those very same boys shouted her name. "Oi, Lucinda how's the view at the back of the group then?" voicing her insecurities to the world, she felt a twinge of pain as everyone burst into laughter at this witty, witty sentiment. She joined in the laughter, trying to laugh with them rather than at her and felt horrible for the rest of the night. On top of all this some of the boys kept on making digs at her regardless of her friends delayed responses at the verbal abuse. "Hey, where's Lucinda I can 't quite see her," "Would you rather kiss Lucinda or Katie..." "Go easy on the fries Lucinda you want to be able to stand and bowl right?" "Lucinda the human bowling ball!" "I'd kiss Katie who wants to kiss Lucinda?" "No one!" "Sorry Lucinda you're going to have to be one of those old cat ladies" "Sounds you have a thing for cat ladies!" "They're so hot...except one... Lucinda" After an hour of this torment she excused herself and went to the bathroom to cry her eyes out as her worst fears and doubts were verified by this group of boys who she'd just met. As she fumbled at the toilet roll trying to dry her eyes Lucinda noticed something glinting at the back of the cubicle. It looked like...a doorknob? It was tiny, hardly visible but you could still see it was brass; with a miniature jewel in the centre. Her eyes widened at the potential value of this and gave it a tug, trying to get it to come out of the wall when suddenly an alarm went off- quietly at first then gradually getting louder and louder.... "NEW NAW" Lucinda's hand flew to her mouth what had she done? "NEW NAW" How long did she have to dry her eyes and get out of there? "NEW NAW NEW NAW NEW NAW NEW NAW" A light started to shine from the jewel in the doorknob. "NEW NAW" The cubicle was flooded with light and that was the last Lucinda ever saw of those people she called friends again... *TO BE CONTINUED* |
